Azur Lane: Part Human, Part Siren is a Wattpad story by ROBLOXGamingDavid. The story starts in 1951, and follows Azur Lane commander and former Eagle Union Air Force fighter pilot and Navy aviator named William Frederick Hodgins, who makes a life-or-death gamble in an attempt to save his shipgirls at a ballroom party that they hosted as a celebration of his 10-year rule and world peace after it was interrupted by the Sirens.

The story was initially Girl's Frontline's first fanfiction story of his Wattpad profile but lack of in-game experience, and with the loss of his Bluestacks emulator used to play mobile games meant development has been replaced in favor for his second Azur Lane fanfiction story. Development began on March 14th, 2022, and on May 2, 2022, Prologue and Chapter 1 are first released.

Development[]

On January 18, 2022, ROBLOXGamingDavid posted an announcement on his Deviantart profile, stating that he is in a process of developing his first Girl's Frontline Wattpad fanfiction story, initially un-titled but later revealed to be "The Source Code". It, along with the 2022 remake of Criminal Idol, began development on January 20th, 2022. While the latter was published a month later on February 20th, GFL: The Source Code, was unable to make progress because of his lack of in-game experience, and stopped development for a while. The author started playing Girl's Frontline somewhere around February 2022 after the development halt to learn more about the game but unfortunately his Bluestacks emulator crashed after his computer battery fails, rendering the application inoperable and forcing him to uninstall the emulator for good.

On March 13, 2022; per his announcement on his Wattpad profile, it was decided that he is working on a second Azur Lane fanfiction story instead, with the publishing of his story cover for this new story that same day.

Story Description[]

It has been over 3 years since almost all of the Sirens have been either eliminated or driven away from Earth in 1948, with pockets of Siren resistance and a few strongholds and research facilities still standing in small corners of the world...

Many of the other Siren's facilities were left either abandoned, in ruin, or were reused with a different purpose by several factions, especially the Big Four, known as Eagle Union, Royal Navy (officially known as the United Kingdom), Sakura Empire, and Iron Blood, all who now have the will to set aside their bitter differences caused by their lust for power and embittered disagreements, and develop what little Siren technologies and hypersonic weapon technologies they have left, to use it as their own and turn the tide against their common enemy that threatens to tear the homeland and the planet asunder.

As part of the celebration in their continued victory against the Sirens, and as an establishment to maintain world peace, a ballroom party is being held on the night of July 11th, 1951.

The commander, who was the ballroom's special guest of honor, and who had been leading the Azur Lane alliance since 1941 during the height of tensions and rivalry, and formerly an Eagle Union naval aviator and Air Force fighter pilot, was running late and tried to make up lost time.

But what happened on that fateful night, changed his life forever...

Characters[]

This is a dynamic list, which may be updated inconsistently, and may not be complete as the story progresses. (Updated as of April 13, 2023.)

Main character(s):[]

  • William Frederick Hodgins - The main protagonist character of this story. Born in Cincinnati and raised in Santa Monica, he is previously a fighter pilot of the Eagle Union Air Force since 1933 and naval aviator of the Eagle Union Navy as part of the aerial First Lightning Squadron aboard USS Saratoga shortly before becoming Azur Lane's commander starting around 1941. In his leadership, he conducted surgical naval assault and counter-intelligence operations against the Sirens and also the Crimson Axis, until he made peace with the latter, and all member states of that opposing faction have been re-admitted into Azur Lane around the late-1940's. On July 11, 1951, Hodgins became a Siren-Human hybrid following his desperate attempt to protect his shipgirls inside the ballroom they were attending for the ballroom party by injecting the Siren serum, known as SRNV-IGV1785, which was obtained from the Siren Research Facility in Thule, Greenland as part of one of his raiding missions 4 months prior to that event, and was placed into a coma after that event for 7 months until he regains consciousness on the evening of Valentines' Day in 1952.

Supporting character(s):[]

  • Jonathan Keane - William Frederick Hodgins' former mentor, and Eagle Union Navy Lieutenant, he is the interim commander of Azur Lane, who was appointed following the incapacitation of his disciple in July 1951. During his stint, he was able to place Azur Lane under the chain of command of the United Nations and was able to handle domestic and international affairs and maintaining stability and morale throughout the alliance, whilst conducting counterattacking operations alongside former Crimson Axis member states against the Sirens.
  • Zachary Llewellyn - President of the Eagle Union.
  • Henry R. Bradshaw - Secretary of the Eagle Union Navy, and who is part of the special medical team in monitoring Hodgins' medical condition and his effects of the Siren compound.
  • Sherry Dunois - A medical researcher and specialist from the CDC, she is part of the team, alongside her colleague Lyon, who are tasked to monitor Hodgins' medical condition and his effects of the Siren compound.
  • Lyon Vasquez - A medical researcher and specialist from the CDC, he is part of the team, alongside his colleague Sherry, who are tasked to monitor Hodgins' medical condition and his effects of the Siren compound.

Azur Lane[]

A global naval alliance organization, It was formed and co-founded by several nations, notably the Big Four (Eagle Union, Royal Navy/United Kingdom, Sakura Empire, and Iron Blood) and its role was to coordinate and perform international intelligence and counter-assault operations against the Sirens which they first invaded their homeland; presumably during the beginning of the mid-20th century. Their primary weapon capable of taking out the Sirens are Kansens or known as shipgirls; female humanoid entities born and manifested from the Wisdom Cubes. As stated by the story, the alliance initially broke up because of the lust of power by other factions like Iron Blood, and Sakura Empire, given out by the Siren technology, bitter disagreements, and other unexplained factors.

At the start of the story, this alliance was led by William Frederick Hodgins for over 10 years, before he convulsed and fell into coma under the effects of the Siren serum he obtained from the Siren Research Facility located in Thule, Greenland during one of his raiding missions in the Siren counterattack campaign back in March 1951. In his absence, the alliance is led by Hodgin's former superior, mentor and Eagle Union Navy Lieutenant Jonathan Keane.

As part of Azur Lane Naval Directive No. 475, whenever if the current holder of the office is unable to perform their duties, its executive powers and responsibilities temporarily falls down on the secretaries that was appointed by the current commander. HMS Hood and KMS Bismarck, as of Chapter 4, were the transitional commanders for three-days before an interim commander is to be appointed by the Naval Command and by the President of the Eagle Union. The maximum number of years on how long the Commanders can serve per term limit is unknown or is not explicitly stated.

This is a dynamic list, and may not be complete as the story progresses. For the Azur Lane characters, it counts when taken account to their story quotes/lines.

Sirens[]

The principal antagonist organization, the Sirens, as a humanoid alien species, had first invaded Planet Earth around decades ago, which led to the formation of Azur Lane; in which it is currently led by former Eagle Union Navy pilot William Frederick Hodgins, of which he and Azur Lane, with the unified efforts from numerous factions, are instrumental in their counterattack against the Sirens. By 1951, very little pockets of Siren resistance remain on Earth and still poses considerable threat to humankind, though operations to take over land has dwindled.. This organization is well known for developing a mysterious serum, later identified and named as SRNV-IGV1785, which was known to resurrect dead corpses and transform them into superhuman berserkers. Its current live subject for the serum is William Frederick Hodgins, who he injected one himself with the vial found from the Siren Research Facility in Thule, Greenland, and is now a Human-Siren hybrid as a result.

Siren Tracker[]

She was the first antagonist to face against William Frederick Hodgins. She attacked him while he was on his way, running late for the ballroom party of which he was supposed to attend to. Backed to a corner, Hodgins is left with no choice but to inject the Siren serum he had took it for himself instead of returning the serum to the Royal Navy, and with his newfound Siren powers, she was ultimately defeated and brutally stabbed to death after a lengthy fight in the grand ballroom venue.
