The Ambassador Program[]
The Wattpad Ambassadors are members of a program designed to help community members connect and engage with Wattpad HQ and Staff and serve as the bridge between them. There are five teams within the program, with applicants able to choose which team they believe is the best fit for their skill and desires.[1]
The program holds three cycles throughout a four month period. During each cycle, recruits (successful applicants hand-picked by the Wattpad team) are trained to become Ambassadors. At the end of each cycle, current Ambassadors who do not wish to continue serving in the program are able to retire and become Alumni.[1]
Teams[]
Within the Wattpad Ambassador Program, there are five teams that applicants can choose from based on what they are most passionate about or how they wish to help the Wattpad Community.[1]
Content: This team is for those who are passionate about all things content related. These Ambassadors dive deep into the stories of Wattpad and help ensure that the discovery is at its best for the community and clean up the platform of content that violates the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, such as plagiarism and/or spam.
Data: This team helps shape the Machine Learning technology and algorithms that detect and understand the "DNA" of a story, and what makes them unique from one-another. These Ambassadors examine and annotate data from Wattpad stories and teach the machines everything they need to know about Wattpad stories. Data these Ambassadors annotate includes, but is not limited to, story genres and themes, grammar styles, and character personas.
Engagement: These Ambassadors focus on the community members themselves, and work with connecting readers and writers through the art of storytelling. This team is constantly experimenting with new and fresh ideas to engage the community and bring them together. Ambassador profiles and social media accounts (such as Genre Profiles and the Official Wattpad accounts) are primarily maintained by this team. Specifically, these Ambassadors enjoy talking with people, running contests, and engaging with Wattpad users through various activities.
Outreach: This team's objective is to set up new writers on Wattpad and help them begin their journey both on the platform and as a writer. As enthusiastic and positive individuals, these Ambassadors reach out to new writers and act as guides throughout the writer's early stages of their journey.
Sentiment: As the newest team in program, these Ambassadors are eager to assist Wattpad's staff by monitoring stories and authors in the Paid and Special Programs, flagging any issues that arise, and generally keep an eye on the community sentiment associated with Wattpad's writers and users.

The Wattpad Ambassadors are made up of remote volunteers from around the globe that help further diversify the community, especially in language. All Ambassadors are hand-picked by the Wattpad team through a series of applicants. The Ambassadors all volunteer their time and energy to work with Wattpad staff at Wattpad HQ on various projects to help make the Community what it is today.[1]
